Alexis Temkin

Vice President, Science

Alexis Temkin currently serves as the Vice President of Science and previously held positions as Senior Toxicologist and Toxicologist at the Environmental Working Group since November 2017. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Student at the Medical University of South Carolina from August 2012 to August 2017, where research focused on environmental obesogens. At Columbia University Medical Center from June 2010 to June 2012, Alexis worked as a Research Technician, conducting next-generation sequencing projects and DNA methylation analysis. Early experience includes an undergraduate research assistant role at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution in summer 2009, investigating potential drug therapies for pancreatic cancer. Alexis holds a Ph.D. in Marine Biomedicine and Environmental Sciences from the Medical University of South Carolina and a BA in Biology from Connecticut College.
