Ryan Marchington

Ryan Marchington currently serves as the Aquaculture Science and Operations Lead at EnviroStrat since March 2024. Prior experience includes the role of Seaweed Nursery Technical Lead and Lab Manager at SAMS Enterprise, overseeing macroalgae nursery operations from September 2022 to January 2024, and serving as a Technical Support Scientist at the Scottish Association for Marine Science from October 2021 to September 2022, where responsibilities included strain maintenance and culture upscaling. A research internship at the Marine Research Institute - CSIC focused on the Ulva holobiont and probiotic bacteria, complemented by early roles as an Assistant Technician at both 5essentia spirulina azores and The National Lobster Hatchery. Ryan holds an MSc in Sustainable Aquaculture from the University of Plymouth and a BSc in Marine Biology from Newcastle University.
