Steve Nares

Steve Nares currently serves as the Associate Director of College Pathways and Post-Secondary Success at Envision Education since July 2023, following a seven-year tenure as the Lead College Advisor at Impact Academy of Arts & Technology. With a strong background in academic counseling, Steve has developed comprehensive initiatives to foster resilience, self-awareness, and responsibility among students. Previous positions include Academic Counselor at Clayton Valley Charter High School, where focus areas included growth mindset and conflict mediation, and School Counselor at Hayward Unified School District, providing social/emotional support to elementary students. Early career roles involved workshop facilitation as a Bi-Lingual Parent Educator with Urban Services YMCA and serving as a Mental Health Specialist at Tri-Valley Community Foundation, promoting mental health awareness within the Latinx community. Steve holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and a BA in Latin American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
