Joshua A. Bloomstone, MD, MSc, FASA, SSGB has extensive experience in the field of anesthesiology, perioperative medicine, and clinical innovation. Joshua A. currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Envision Healthcare, where they have played a crucial role in developing and implementing clinical practices to enhance communication during transitions of care, as well as managing the organization's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this, they held the position of SVP Clinical Innovation and Practice Transformation at Envision Healthcare, where they were responsible for leading clinical and technical innovation, developing evidence-based clinical practices, and designing health outcome tools.

Joshua A. Bloomstone, MD, MSc, FASA, SSGB completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 at Bowdoin College. Joshua A. then went on to study at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine degree in 1993. Dr. Bloomstone pursued further education at Harvard University, where they completed a medical internship in 1995, followed by a clinical fellowship in anesthesia in 1997. Joshua A. also completed an anesthesiology residency program at Harvard University, earning board certification in anesthesiology in 1998, which they have maintained to the present day. In 2017, they graduated with distinction from UCL with a Master of Science degree in Perioperative Medicine. Dr. Bloomstone has obtained various additional certifications throughout their career, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Lean Six Sigma, and Six Sigma Green Belt in healthcare. Additionally, they hold medical licenses in Arizona, Florida, and Massachusetts.
