Emily Hines has over ten years of work experience in a variety of roles. In 2007, they began their career as an Art Consultant at NaPua Gallery, where they were responsible for educating guests on the museum collection and providing information to clients and visitors about the artists represented in the gallery. In 2011, they held two roles simultaneously at the University of Georgia and the Georgia Museum of Art, as a Surveyor for the Georgia Historic Resource Survey Partnership and a Research Associate, respectively. The following year, they were hired as a Social Media Manager at The Southern Coterie. In 2014, they were hired as a Communications Manager at Upland Brewing Co. and then as a Digital Content Manager at Visit Bloomington in 2016. In 2020, they were hired as a Senior Social Media Manager at FIREBELLY Marketing and most recently, in 2022, they were hired as a Content Manager at Envisionit. Additionally, they have been self-employed as a Writer since 2013, writing and editing website assets, direct marketing emails, packaging copy, print collateral, social media ads, blog posts, product descriptions, and internal communications for a variety of clients, including digital marketing agencies, brands, and retailers. Her bylines have been featured in publications such as USA Today 10Best, Craftbeer.com, TimeOut, Far & Wide, and Livability.
Emily Hines obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Birmingham-Southern College in 2006. Emily then continued their education and obtained their Master of Science in Historic Preservation from The University of Georgia in 2012.
