Zach Taylor is an experienced instructor and program leader in wilderness education, currently serving as an Instructor for NOLS Wilderness Medicine since November 2023 and previously as a Field Instructor for NOLS since August 2019. In these roles, Zach engages diverse age groups in leadership theory, environmental studies, and technical outdoor skills while managing risk in remote wilderness settings. Accomplishments include receiving the NOLS Instructor Merit Award in 2020 and 2021, teaching advanced leadership development seminars, and mentoring new instructors. Additional experience includes program leadership at Envoys, sales roles at Patagonia, and guiding backpacking trips. Zach holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from Saybrook University and a Bachelor of Science in Planning, Public Policy, and Management from the University of Oregon, along with certifications in Wilderness First Response and Leave No Trace.
