Hwa Pyong Ko

Lead Ground Segment Engineer at EOI Space

Hwa Pyong Ko began their work experience in 2003 as a Structural Engineer at Space Grant Consortium University of Colorado at Boulder. In 2004, they held roles as a Technical Engineer and Ground Communication Engineer at the same company. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder. In 2008, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where they simulated satellite drag and studied gas-surface interaction. In 2011, Hwa Pyong Ko joined DigitalGlobe as a Satellite Operations Engineer, and later took on roles as a Ground Systems Engineer and Mission Systems Engineer/Analyst. During this time, they developed an automated reporting tool, saving significant costs and ensuring revenue. In 2019, they joined Maxar Technologies as a Mission Systems Engineer/Analyst before transitioning to Raytheon as a Sr Systems Engineer II. Hwa Pyong Ko currently holds the position of Lead Ground Segment Engineer at EOI Space, starting in 2022.

Hwa Pyong Ko completed their Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Science in Systems Engineering and Analysis from the University of Colorado Boulder. They then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Science from the same institution.
