Bruce Schearer possesses extensive leadership experience in various philanthropic and environmental organizations. Currently serving on the Board of Directors at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies since 2015, Bruce previously held the role of President of the Board at At Home on the Sound from 2013 to 2016 and was a Trustee and Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee at The Nature Conservancy, Eastern New York Chapter from 2013 to 2015. Bruce's previous positions include Director of Volunteer Leadership at TNC ENY, Partner and Chairman at Apollo Philanthropy Partners, and Chief Executive Officer at Magis Americas, where the focus was on supporting Jesuit programs in Latin America. Bruce also held executive roles at The Synergos Institute and the Population Resource Center, alongside a decade at the Population Council as a Senior Fellow. Academically, Bruce earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Columbia University and a B.S. in Biology from Lafayette College.
