Mafizul Islam, M.Eng., PMP, P.E., P.Eng. has extensive work experience in the field of pipeline engineering and project management. Mafizul currently works as a SME/Project Engineer at Epcon, specializing in Pipeline Critical Lift & Steep Slope construction planning for the TMEP Project. Prior to this, they worked at Stantec Consulting Ltd. as a Pipeline and Trenchless Crossing Engineer from 2018 to 2020. Mafizul also served as a Pipeline Lead Engineer at TransCanada from 2013 to 2017 and as a Senior Pipeline Engineer at WorleyParsons Calgary from 2012 to 2013. Furthermore, Mafizul gained experience as an Intermediate Pipeline Engineer at IMV Projects from 2011 to 2012 and as a Pipeline Specialist at WorleyParsons Calgary and CUB Engineering in 2008. Mafizul started their career at Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) in 2004 as an Engineer responsible for pipelines and facilities. Prior to that, they worked at Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited as an Assistant Engineer in the same field from 1995 to 2003. Overall, Mafizul has a diverse range of experience in pipeline engineering, project management, and construction planning.

Mafizul Islam, M.Eng., PMP, P.E., P.Eng. pursued their education in a chronological order. In 1989, they started studying at Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology and completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993. Following their bachelor's education, in 2009, Mafizul enrolled at the University of Calgary, where they obtained a Master's degree in Pipeline Engineering in 2010.
