Michelle Seybolt has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Michelle started their career as a Teacher at Norman Public Schools in 2001 and worked there until 2016. Michelle then joined Oklahoma City Public Schools as an Assistant Principal from 2016 to 2017 and later became a Principal from 2017 to 2018. In 2020, they joined the Oklahoma State Department of Education as the Executive Director of School Support and Improvement until 2022, after which they became the Assistant Deputy Superintendent of School Support and Improvement until 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Managing Director of School Support at Epic Charter Schools.
Michelle Seybolt earned a Master of Education - MEd degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University, which they attended from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Oklahoma from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Letters and a Bachelor of Science - BS in Education, specializing in Elementary Education and Teaching.

Founded in 2011, Epic Charter Schools (Epic) is Oklahoma’s largest public virtual charter school – and among the largest of its kind in the U.S. – serving approximately 30,000 students from PreK-12th grade in all 77 counties statewide. Epic is dedicated to providing students and families with a learning environment that can meet an individual student’s unique needs. Epic Charter Schools is a FREE Pre-K-12 public school for parents/students seeking a non-traditional educational setting utilizing internet-based, individualized self-paced instruction provided in nearly any location. We believe that learning best occurs when: -Students are provided an opportunity to receive instruction in a manner that appeals to them and their family. -Within appropriate guidelines, the curriculum is self-paced to benefit the individual student. -The curriculum is accessible to students at a time that is best suited for his/her learning style. -One-to-one teaching is used as appropriate. -Real life context-based learning is emphasized. -There is supplemental enrichment through individualized instruction, independent study, field trips, apprenticeships, and appropriate uses of technology, etc. -The entire community serves as the school campus. -Interesting, worthwhile learning opportunities are provided that will stimulate the interests of each student
