Michael Anderson

Senior Engine Programmer

Michael Anderson is a senior engine programmer currently employed at Epic Games since September 2022. Prior to this role, Michael served as a lead optimization programmer at Blackbird Interactive Inc from May 2020 to October 2022, and as a lead technology programmer at Hothead Games from May 2006 to May 2020, where significant contributions included establishing an in-house game engine and porting Sony's PhyreEngine. Additionally, Michael was an instructor at Vancouver Film School from September 2018 to September 2019, teaching courses on data structures, algorithms, rendering engines, and shaders. Prior programming experience includes work at Radical Entertainment and H2O Entertainment, focusing on memory profiling tools and migrating development environments. Michael holds a diploma in Advanced Technical Systems from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, completed between 1995 and 1997.
