Rebecca Spiegel

Dr. Spiegel is a Board Certified Adult Neurologist at Stony Brook Medicine. She serves as Chief of EEG/Epilepsy and Director of Sleep Neurology at Stony Brook Medicine. She lead the efforts to establish a state of the art epilepsy surgical program at Stony Brook Medicine and helped create an epilepsy clinical trials division. She is also involved in several investigator initiated trials. She is the recipient of patients’ awards for most compassionate doctor and several teaching awards. Most recently, Dr. Spiegel received a Clinician Excellence Award from her department. She is a member of several professional societies including the American Epilepsy Society and the American Academy of Neurology. She has both a Master’s Degree in Psychology and an MD from the University of Chicago. She completed her Neurology residency and Neurophysiology Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is an Associate Professor at Stony Brook Medicine. She is devoted to Epilepsy Awareness and is active with the annual Walk for Epilepsy and a member of the Professional Advisory Board of EPIC Long Island.
