Research Scientist I at EpiCypher

Allison Hickman has a diverse work experience in various research and teaching roles. Allison is currently working as a Research Scientist I at EpiCypher, Inc. starting from January 2022. Prior to this, they were a PHD Graduate Student at Clemson University from August 2017 to December 2021. During their time at Clemson, they conducted research in Dr. Alex Feltus' lab, focusing on discovering biomarker systems in Autism Spectrum Disorder and uterine cancer. Allison also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching in both lecture and lab settings. Before their PHD, Allison worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of South Carolina from September 2014 to May 2016, where they investigated the relationship between eye size of the Daphnia and reproductive fitness. Allison also worked as a Tutor for Student Athletes, helping them improve their study skills in Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, and Spanish.

Allison Hickman earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the University of South Carolina in 2016. Allison then pursued their higher education at Clemson University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Genetics in 2021.
