Courtney Barnes

Courtney Barnes worked as a Molecular Scientist at Actalent from November 2020 to May 2022. In this role, they were responsible for performing DNA extraction on human samples of SARS-CoV-2, conducting quality control on DNA samples, preparing and running qPCR instruments, managing sample batches within LIMS, maintaining inventory of reagents, and analyzing data using the QuantStudio program. Courtney also worked closely with the genomics supervisor and ensured compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Barnes currently holds the position of Research Associate II at EpiCypher, Inc., starting in May 2022.

Courtney Barnes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from Fayetteville State University from 2012 to 2017. Courtney later attended a Data Analytics Boot Camp at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completing it in November 2022.
