Rikard Herlitz

Rikard Herlitz currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Epidemic Sound since January 2023, focusing on soundtracking the world. Previously, Rikard held the position of Engineering Director at Google from January 2019 to January 2023, leading the Google Meet team in Stockholm. Prior to that, Rikard was the Chief Technology Officer at Mojang AB, overseeing Minecraft from August 2016 to December 2018. As the Founder and CTO of Goo Technologies from January 2012 to August 2016, Rikard developed the Goo Engine and Goo Create, which facilitated the creation of 3D games and interactive applications before the company was acquired by Amazon and transformed into Amazon Sumerian. Additionally, Rikard founded Ardor Labs AB, focusing on making advanced 3D technology accessible for web interaction and communication from March 2010 to July 2016. Experience includes earlier roles at Excosoft AB, jMonkeyEngine, NCsoft, Jadestone Group AB, and Idol FX AB, spanning various aspects of game development and software engineering. Rikard Herlitz holds a degree in Mathematics from Stockholm University.
