Leonel Galán Recinos

Leonel Galán has a strong background in technology, with experience working in various roles and companies. Leonel started their career at Oasic Technologies in 2005 as a Web Developer. Later, they worked at FC Ingenieros & Arquitectos as a Software Engineer from 2007 to 2010. In 2011, they joined Smashing Boxes, where they initially worked as a Software Developer before transitioning to the role of Back-end Team Lead. During their time there, they oversaw development projects, collaborated with mobile developers, and worked on DevOps using Ansible. In 2015, they joined Stealz, Inc. as a Rails Developer, where they developed Ruby on Rails applications and implemented RESTful APIs. Leonel also worked on projects involving computer vision, machine learning, and image moderation. Most recently, in 2017, they became the Director of Technology at Epifany, where they worked on Ruby on Rails and React applications, Python multilabel classification microservices, and data analysis/reporting infrastructure. Overall, Leonel Galán has gained valuable experience in various technology roles, showcasing their expertise in software development, team leadership, and cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning and computer vision.

Leonel Galán pursued their education in computer science, starting with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala from 2004 to 2008. Leonel continued their studies at the same university, obtaining an Engineering License in computer science from 2004 to 2009. Later, Leonel pursued a Master's degree in computer science at North Carolina State University from 2010 to 2012.

In addition to their academic education, Leonel Galán earned the certification of Duolingo English Fluency: Expert (Estimated) from Duolingo in September 2015.
