Byron Poos has over 20 years of work experience. Byron began their career in 1987 as a Light Infantry in the United States Army Reserve. In 1998, they became a Software Engineer at Sun Microsystems, where they worked with Java Servlets and the Cyber Cash Credit Card System. Byron then worked as a Software Consultant at Intellimark, Inc. and Immedient, Inc. In 2000, they joined Palazzo Inc. as a Technical Consultant, where they wrote Oracle EnterpriseOne Java-based web services and created a self-service portal for a membership organization. In 2011, they became a Senior Software Development Engineer at Polycom, where they helped maintain and extend core Polycom video conferencing software and convert .NET code on Windows to Java on Linux. In 2012, they joined FirstBank as a Software Engineer, and The Assist Group as a Software Engineer, where they helped maintain and extend web applications and develop a customer portal. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at Episode Six.
Byron Poos obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Colorado School of Mines between 1988 and 1996. In October 2021, they obtained a certification in "Hands on With Docker & Docker Compose From a Docker Captain" from Udemy.
