Alec Karry

Alec Karry has a extensive work experience in the field of information security. Currently, Alec is working as a Client Security Principal at ePlus inc., where they are responsible for the mid-Atlantic security business. Alec has a broad range of experience in areas such as security strategy, program development, compliance, and operations.

Prior to their current role, Alec worked at Optiv Inc as a Sr. Client Solutions Advisor in the Office of the CISO from 2015 to 2021. Alec also served as the Director of Strategic Services at FishNet Security from 2013 to 2015.

Before that, Alec held the position of Director of Federal Sales and Managing Consultant at Cigital from 2010 to 2013, where they handled sales strategy and managed software security consulting projects. Alec also served as a Sr. Cyber Security Consultant at Converge Networks Corporation from 2007 to 2010.

In addition, Alec has experience working at Oracle as a Sr. Product Manager, Breakwater Security Associates as an Information Assurance Practice Director, and Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Consultant. At Booz Allen Hamilton, they led information security consulting engagements for various Federal agencies.

Throughout their career, Alec has demonstrated their expertise in areas such as security assessment, policy development, certification and accreditation, and technical architecture design.

Alec Karry holds a Master of Information Systems (MIS) degree from The Johns Hopkins University. Alec also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The George Washington University. Prior to these degrees, Alec completed their undergraduate studies at Furman University where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as CISSP from (ISC)² in 2004 and a PCI QSA certification from the PCI Security Standards Council (although it has expired).
