Meredith Knotts, LMSW has extensive experience in the social work field, spanning over 19 years. Meredith most recently held the position of Director of HOMEBUILDERS Community-Based Services, Midlands at Epworth Children's Home. Prior to that, they worked at South Carolina Youth Advocate Program (SCYAP) as a Treatment Coordinator for almost 9 years. Meredith also served as the Program Director of Youth Services - Treatment Foster Care & Clinical Day Program at Alston Wilkes Society. Earlier in their career, they held various roles at Carolina Children's Home, including Director of Temporary De-escalation Program and Clinical Coordinator. Meredith also worked as a School Therapist at the same organization. Additionally, Meredith has experience as a Research/Graduate Assistant at the University of South Carolina, College of Social and has served as an Intern at Carolina Children's Home, Crossroads Counseling Center, and William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute.
Meredith Knotts, LMSW, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Social Work and Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina, where they attended from 1999 to 2001. Following that, they pursued their Masters in Social Work at the same university from 2002 to 2004. Meredith has also acquired several certifications, including becoming a Certified Trainer in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention in September 2010. Additionally, they hold certifications in CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and CPR/First Aid. Meredith is also a Licensed Master of Social Work.

Since 1896, Epworth Children’s Home has been a place for children to grow, learn and be loved. Children ages four – 18 come to us from broken family systems and our goal is to nurture and love them by providing education, counseling, medical care and spiritual enrichment. The mission of Epworth Children’s Home is to serve children, youth and families through a caring, accepting and safe Christian community, where hurts are healed; hope is nurtured; and faith in God, self and others is developed. Epworth Children’s Home provides group residential care for children and youth from all of South Carolina. We provide child care, counseling and related services to families and children without regard to race, religion, national origin or ability to pay.
