GIS Analyst II at EQT Corporation

Ryan Mears has a diverse work experience in GIS analysis and technician roles. Ryan started their career at the Institute for Mine Mapping Archival Procedures and Safety in 2011 as a GIS Technician, where they analyzed and recorded geographic and attribute data from historical mining maps. Ryan also preserved historical maps through digital scanning and utilized ArcGIS for georegistering map scans.

In 2013, Ryan joined EQT Corporation as a Geotechnician for their Geosciences team. Ryan provided GIS support and analysis of the Appalachian Basin for EQT Petroleum Geologists, maintained daily updated layers for the Geoscience Department, and evaluated prospective acreage for horizontal development.

Over the years, Ryan progressed to roles such as GIS Technician II - Geosciences, GIS Technician II - Asset Development Engineering, GIS Analyst, and finally GIS Analyst II. In these positions, they undertook responsibilities such as assisting in gas well and acreage analysis for development planning, managing and calculating natural gas reserves for government reporting, developing and maintaining Esri's ArcGIS Portal environment, and creating documentation and GIS training materials.

During their time at EQT Corporation, Ryan extensively worked with ESRIs Portal for ArcGIS and AGO, utilizing various tools including Web App Builder, ArcGIS Dashboard, AGO Assistant, and Survey 123.

In 2013, they also briefly worked as a Project Employee at the Institute for Mine Mapping Archival Procedures and Safety, providing database and administrative assistance for mine mapping and shale gas projects.

Ryan's work experience showcases their proficiency in GIS analysis and expertise in using tools and software such as ArcGIS.

Ryan Mears graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Geography, specializing in Geographic Information Systems, from 2008 to 2013. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained certifications in "Presenting to Senior Executives," "Digital Body Language," "Mastering Communications as a Leader," and "What's the So What: Writing Clearly for a Business Audience" from LinkedIn in July and August 2023.
