Bruno Filippone has extensive experience in data engineering and software development. Bruno is currently working as a Data Platform Engineering Lead at Optimizely, where they are responsible for designing and documenting a data platform migration to Snowflake, DBT, Kubernetes, and Atlan on AWS. Bruno also develops infrastructure as code, applications, pipelines, and data quality frameworks, while providing support and mentorship to the data engineering team.
Before joining Optimizely, Bruno worked as an Associate Software Engineer at Equal Experts. Prior to that, they were a Data Solutions Architect at Zilch, where they redesigned and simplified AWS data ingestion pipelines and improved data modeling and reporting capabilities.
Bruno has also held senior positions at Checkout.com, The Guardian, Wagestream, Expedia Group, OVO Energy, BrightTALK, and Aizoon. In these roles, they have gained experience in areas such as tech leadership, cloud platform management, microservices architecture, and web development.
Throughout their career, Bruno has demonstrated a strong ability to drive product and technical improvements, mentor and develop team members, and promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within organizations.
Bruno Filippone completed their education in a chronological manner. From 2000 to 2005, they attended Liceo Scientifico, where they obtained a High Level Qualification degree. During this time, their field of study included English, Mathematics, Physics, and Information Technology. Following that, they pursued their higher education at Politecnico di Torino from 2005 to 2008, where they specialized in Computer Engineering with a focus on Information Technology. In April 2017, Bruno earned a certification in Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark from Coursera.
