Dr Oliver Shaw

Dr Oliver Shaw has extensive work experience in the field of software development and engineering. Dr Oliver currently holds the position of Head of Engineering EU at Equal Experts, a role they have been in since January 2022. Prior to this, they were a Principal Consultant at Equal Experts from April 2021 to the present.

Before their current role, Dr Shaw worked as a Contract Associate at Equal Experts, specifically for John Lewis, starting in September 2018 and ending in April 2021.

Dr Shaw has also held various positions at other companies. From November 2017 to July 2018, they were the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Grid Smarter Cities. At Equal Experts, they have served as the Head of Development for HMRC Digital from September 2016 to November 2017, as well as a Technical Architect from March 2016 to May 2017.

In addition, Dr Shaw has worked as a Subject Matter Expert (Freelance) at Technically Compatible from August 2013 to March 2016. During this time, they authored assessments related to Scala, Java, Hibernate, Spring, JEE, Ruby, and MongoDB.

Dr Oliver Shaw received their PhD in Modelling Bacterial Regulatory Networks with Petri Nets from Newcastle University, which they pursued from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their PhD, Dr Shaw has obtained certifications in Principles of Reactive Programming from Coursera Verified Certificates in May 2015 and Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera Verified Certificates in November 2014. Dr Oliver also holds a Scrum Master certification from Scrum Alliance, although the details of when they obtained this certification are not provided.
