John Green

John Green has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. John began their career at Deloitte & Touche as a Trainee Accountant and Senior Consultant. John then worked at Infor as an Analyst/Programmer, where they designed and maintained software while also providing training to colleagues.

John's software development journey continued at Volo Commerce (previously eSellerPro), where they held roles as a Software Programmer, Team Leader, and later as a Senior Principal Software Engineer, and Software Development Manager. In these positions, they managed staff roles, implemented Agile techniques, and oversaw quality assurance. John also participated in all tiers of a desktop application's development life cycle and provided support and consultancy to colleagues and clients.

After their time at Volo Commerce, John worked as a Consultant Developer at BJSS, focusing on cloud-based software development. John also actively participated in Special Interest Groups studying Cloud Infrastructure and Big Data.

John then joined Dyson Technology Ltd as a Java Software Engineer, working on developing the dyson.com family of websites using technologies like Adobe Experience Manager and SAP Hybris. John collaborated with business analysts and presented completed work to an international audience.

Next, John contracted their services through Digital Dewpoint Limited, where they specialized in cloud native Java development and provided software development and cloud consultancy services, mainly on Amazon Web Services.

John's expertise also extended to Cretesoft Ltd, where they worked as a Software Researcher & Engineer. John assisted in the preparation and live presentation of Java classes, developed exercises for new courses, and researched and demonstrated Project Loom, a concurrency model for Java.

At Kingfisher plc, John served as an API Developer, primarily using Kotlin with Spring Framework. John'swork involved activities across the software lifecycle, including business analysis, design, coding, testing, security, deployment, monitoring, and production support.

Most recently, John joined Equal Experts as an Associate Software Engineer. John'srole and responsibilities within the company are currently ongoing.

John Green has a Master of Science degree in Computing with Software Engineering from the University of Gloucestershire. John also has a BCom(Hons) PGDA degree in Financial and Managerial Accounting, Taxation & Auditing, as well as a BSc(Hons) degree in Mathematics of Computer Science, both obtained from the University of Cape Town. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including VMware Spring Professional 2021 from VMware, Oracle Certified Professional in Java SE 8 Programmer from Oracle, AWS Certified Developer - Associate and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services, and Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the Java 2 Platform 1.4 and Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform 1.4, both from Sun Microsystems.
