Matthew Waugh has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Marketing Assistant at Nine Network Australia and later at the Australian Rugby Union. In 2011, they joined Fairfax Media as an Events employee. In 2012, they became the National Marketing Coordinator at Nine, where they also served as a Social Media Producer. From 2013 to 2014, they worked at VBM as a Venue Project Coordinator and then as a Venue Project Executive, handling logistics, warehouse operations, retail operations, and team management for international sport licensing projects. In 2014, Waugh joined Zuellig Industrial as a Business Manager, where they worked on a multinational ERP implementation and took on various marketing responsibilities. In 2016, they co-founded Conexie and held multiple roles, including Founder-Strategic Advisor, Founder-Head of Growth and Partnerships, and Founder-Business Development Manager. In 2021, they joined Equal Experts as the Director of Sales and Business Development APAC and Equal Experts Australia and New Zealand as a Senior Business Development Manager.

Starting in 2004, Matthew attended the Australian International School Hong Kong, where they completed their HSC and studied Economics, Engineering, Physics, Math, and English.
In 2010, Matthew enrolled at the University of Technology Sydney and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Sports and Exercise Management, completing their studies in 2012.
Matthew returned to the University of Technology Sydney in 2016 to further their education, this time focusing on Science with a specialization in Sport and Exercise. Matthew spent four years at the university, completing their Bachelor's degree in 2020.
Throughout their studies, Matthew also obtained a variety of certifications. In 2019 and 2020, they attended the Australian Institute of Management and received certificates in Business Administration and Management, specifically in managing people effectively and managing business effectively.
In 2020, Matthew also attended the MEDDIC Academy, where they completed a course in Introduction to MEDDIC, which focuses on selling skills and sales operations.
Additionally, Matthew has obtained two professional certifications. In 2021, they became an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner through Amazon Web Services (AWS), and they also achieved the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification through Scrum Alliance, both in the months of April and October respectively.
