Nick Redshaw

Nick Redshaw has a diverse work experience in software development. Nick started their career as a PHP Architect and Developer at Hull City Council, where they worked on a Virtual Learning System. Nick then moved on to become a J2EE Developer at William Hill and later at Ioko Ltd, where they contributed to the development of BSkyB's Sky Player Video on Demand system.

Nick then worked as a Senior Analyst Programmer at CPP Group plc, where they implemented various projects and change requests for CPP call center use and business partner system integration. Nick also worked as a J2EE Developer on an internal application for CPP's call centers.

After that, Nick joined GameSparks Ltd as a Lead Developer, where they implemented backend services using WebSockets and REST and developed features in a Web-based game developer portal. Nick then worked as a Senior Java Developer at Sky, contributing to the development of the Online Video Platform, which provides backend systems for various streaming services.

Nick later joined the Ministry of Justice UK as a Senior Developer, where they worked on projects related to probation services, cell sharing risk assessment, and the hub. Nick developed cloud-based REST web services and applications deployed on AWS, Azure, and Heroku platforms.

Most recently, Nick is working at Equal Experts as an Associate Java Developer and later as an Associate Scala Developer. Nick has been involved in projects such as Customs Declaration Service and Binding Tariffs, where they developed web applications, REST services, and automated tests. Nick also worked on integrating services with various APIs and deploying them to HMRC's digital tax platform using technologies such as Play Framework (Scala), Jenkins, and MongoDB.

Nick Redshaw attended Sheffield Hallam University from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Information Technology. In August 2020, they obtained a certification as a Lightbend Scala Language Professional - Level 2 from Lightbend, Inc.
