Nick Spragg has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Nick is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Equal Experts since November 2021. Previously, they worked for the BBC from 2007 to 2021, holding various roles such as Principal Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Developer in Test, and Contract Developer in Test. During their time at the BBC, Nick was a founding member of the development team that built the first version of the iPlayer Business Layer (API) for web, TV, and mobile platforms. Nick contributed to the API design and implementation and worked with Java (using Spring) and Node.js for development. Nick also played a role in migrating the iBL from a BBC platform to AWS. Before joining the BBC, Nick had roles in companies like Fortent, Electronic Data Systems, Capita SIP Services, Reuters, and Acxiom UK, working as a Contract Test Engineer, Test Analyst, Test Engineer, Contract Functional Test Lead, and Contract Application profiler.

Nick Spragg received a BSc in Business Information Technology from the University of South Wales, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their degree, they also obtained the Foundation Certification in Software Testing from ISEB in November 2004 and the AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in December 2017.
