Richard Wild's work experience begins in 1998 when they worked as a Programmer at Aviation Consulting Group, where they developed applications using Oracle PL/SQL, Forms, and Reports. Richard then moved on to NSB Retail Systems in 1999, where they worked as an Oracle Designer/Builder developing an Oracle-based merchandise management system.
In 2001, Richard joined IMServ Europe Ltd as an Analyst Programmer, where they worked on developing their backend system using C programming language. Richard stayed with IMServ until 2005.
Following that, Richard worked at Weatherbys & Weatherbys Bank Ltd as an Analyst Programmer, primarily dealing with complex data processing tasks using Oracle PL/SQL, Forms, and Reports.
In 2010, Richard joined Travis Perkins plc as a Software Engineer, where they worked on a variety of projects using languages such as Java, C#, and ASP.NET. Richard also gained experience in test-driven development during this time. Later, they took on the role of a Senior Software Engineer and then a DevOps Engineer, being responsible for CI/CD pipelines automation and the Hybris platform.
In 2016, Richard joined e2y Limited as a Backend Developer, working on projects such as Style.com and Milk & More website, using Hybris and Datahub.
From 2017 to 2022, Richard worked at Codurance, initially as a Senior Software Craftsman and then as a Principal Software Craftsman. At Codurance, they worked as a hands-on consultant and engaged with individuals at all levels, from junior developers to C-level executives. Their duties included designing and building software, leading projects, and advising clients.
Currently, Richard is a Senior Software Engineer at Equal Experts, working for the Passport Office on their Digital Application Processing project. The project aims to replace the existing legacy system, and Richard's role involves adding remaining use cases to retire the legacy system.
Throughout their career, Richard has gained expertise in various programming languages and technologies, including Oracle, Hybris, Java, C#, ASP.NET, and C. Richard has also acquired skills in test-driven development, CI/CD pipeline automation, and working as a consultant.
Richard Wild completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics from the University of Warwick, from 1994 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Ashby de-la Zouch from 1990 to 1994 for various studies, but did not earn a degree. In addition to their formal education, Richard has also obtained some certifications. In January 2018, they became an Apigee Certified Professional API Engineer from Apigee. In November 2017, they attained the Apigee Edge Level 1 Developer certification, but the institution that provided this certification is unknown.
