Sam McGregor

Sam McGregor has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Sam most recently worked at Equal Experts as the Chief Operating Officer, where they managed the company's operations. Prior to that, they served as the Business Unit Lead for the South region at Equal Experts and as a Delivery & Engagement Manager.

Before joining Equal Experts, Sam worked at Nature Publishing Group as the Head of Development for the Identity & Submissions group. Sam was responsible for overseeing development teams in London and New York, focusing on building internal capabilities.

Sam also has experience at Channel 5, where they worked as a Technical Delivery Lead, managing the development and integration of a new advertising platform. Additionally, they worked on improving Access Services and supplier selection for the Digital Media Group.

At Encompass Digital Media, Inc., Sam served as a Product Development Manager for VOD Platforms. Sam successfully delivered a new business service for processing video content for delivery to various Video on Demand platforms.

Sam was the Head of Platforms at Philter Phactory, an internet start-up. Sam developed growth roadmap and improved technical stack for scaling the company's operations.

Earlier in their career, Sam held various roles at the BBC, including Head of Product Development for the Digital Media Initiative and Programme Manager for the Forge Platform. Sam was responsible for delivering new platforms, managing infrastructure refresh, and developing applications and tools for the development community.

Sam also worked at Channel 4 TV, where they served as a Programme Manager for New Media and later became the Head of New Media Technology. In these roles, they oversaw the delivery of new media technology, managed outsourced platforms, and integrated with third parties and suppliers.

Prior to their roles in the media industry, Sam was the Director of Blue Pier Ltd, where they provided technical solutions to the Small/Medium Enterprise market.

Sam McGregor has a diverse education history. In 1985, they attended Bangor University and completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Marine Biology in 1986. Following this, from 1992 to 1995, Sam studied at City, University of London and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Systems Science.

In terms of higher education, Sam pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Earth Science from The Open University. This program was completed from 2014 to 2021.

In addition to their degrees, Sam also obtained professional certifications. In 2004, they acquired a Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute. Furthermore, in 2012, Sam obtained a certification in Managing Successful Programs from the APMG Group.
