Shelagh Jones has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Shelagh started their career in 1972 as a Lecturer in Polymer Technology at John Dalton College in Manchester. After that, they worked as a Joint Owner at Hopton Fine Wines from 1975 to 1980. In 1991, they became the Managing Director of Emley Farm Chilled Foods until 1993. From then on, they became the Principal Consultant and Partner at Shelagh Jones Consultants, a role they still hold to this day. In 2008, they also established Spiritus - the Spiritual Marketing Directory, which they owned until 2020. Additionally, they founded Tame Your Techie Monster in 2020. Shelagh has also been actively involved in Toastmasters - Doncaster Speakers since 2010, holding various positions such as President, VP Education, VP Membership, and Area 15 Governor. Shelagh also served as an Area Governor for Toastmasters Area 15, Division E from 2012 to 2013. Currently, they are working to bring the Toastmasters program into UK prisons. Throughout their career, they have also been engaged with Wheel of Life, a radio program, and podcast series. Overall, Shelagh Jones has demonstrated a breadth of expertise and a passion for personal development and communication.

Shelagh Jones started their education at Merchant Taylors' School for Girls, Crosby in 1952, where they pursued a degree in Polymer Technology. Shelagh attended this school until 1965. Following that, they enrolled at John Dalton College in Manchester, where they studied Polymer Technology and obtained a Grad Plastics and Rubber Institute (GPRI) degree from 1965 to 1968.
