Steve Coates is a seasoned technical leader with extensive experience in software development and delivery. Currently serving as a Technical Lead at John Lewis Partnership since January 2024, Steve specializes in omni-channel payments for both John Lewis and Waitrose. Prior roles include Lead Consultant at Equal Experts, Technical Lead for Performance Testing at Waitrose & Partners, and Technical Delivery Manager for Tesco’s eCommerce Payment Platform. Throughout a career spanning over two decades, Steve has held various leadership positions in organizations such as Old Mutual South Africa, Informa, Centrix Software Ltd, 1E, Workshare, and SQL Development. Steve holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computing from the University of Surrey, obtained in 1996.
