Michael Futrell

Michael Futrell has a strong background in leadership and business development. Michael is currently serving as the Chief of Staff at Equal Justice Works since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Millennium Enterprise Corporation as a Senior Advisor to the CEO and a member of the Executive Leadership Team from 2016 to 2023. In this role, they were responsible for spearheading business development initiatives and overseeing a team of eight. Michael also launched new divisions within the organization. From 2020 to 2022, Michael served as the Interim Chief of Staff at the Office of the Lt. Governor of Virginia. During this time, they developed a task force and coordinated efforts with the White House and minority small business owners. Before that, they founded and managed the non-profit organization, Make The Future Inc., from 2010 to 2021. Michael has also worked as a Member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2014 to 2016, securing funding for transportation projects and introducing legislation. Earlier in their career, Michael held sales positions at Novo Nordisk A/S and Sepracor/Sunovion, where they achieved top rankings and exceeded goals. Michael also worked as an Internet Sales Manager at ALEX MONTGOMERY, INC. from 2006 to 2008.

Michael Futrell earned an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Lindsey Wilson College in 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Education from the same college between 2000 and 2007. Additionally, in May 2023, they obtained a certification in The Chief of Staff Association Micro-Credentials from The Chief of Staff Association.
