Silvia L. Mazzula, PhD, is a prominent scholar and leader in the fields of psychology and multicultural sensitivity. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Latina Researchers Network, established in 2012, Silvia addresses the underrepresentation of historically disadvantaged populations in research and academia while fostering a supportive community for emerging scholars. With a tenured position as an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at John Jay College (CUNY), Silvia teaches courses on forensic mental health and multicultural counseling and has held various roles in professional organizations, including as a past president of the Latino Psychological Association of New Jersey. Silvia also serves as a Partner and Senior Consultant at Northeastern Psychological Consultation, specializing in youth violence prevention, and holds research fellow and consulting positions at several institutions. With a strong academic background, including a PhD from Teachers College, Columbia University, Silvia's expertise encompasses equity, treatment approaches for racial and ethnic minority clients, and culturally responsive research.
