Matthew Cervarich

Matthew Cervarich has extensive work experience in various roles. Matthew currently works as the Director of Business Intelligence at Equality Health since September 2023. Previously, they worked at GEHA Health as a Data Scientist, where they led the transition to cloud-based operations, developed and deployed data science models, advised senior leadership on corporate KPIs and strategy, managed SQL databases, and designed Power BI dashboards. Before that, Matthew was an IT Business Analyst at Cerner Corporation from June 2016 to August 2018. Matthew also has experience as a Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, and Lecturer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they contributed to various educational and research programs. In addition, they worked as an Earth Scientist Intern at NASA Ames Research Center, collaborating on integrating satellite-based data into numerical models and improving the WRF model. Matthew's earlier experiences include working as an Operational Meteorologist at Meridian Environmental Technology, Inc., and as a Chief Meteorologist at The Torch. Matthew started their career as an intern at WMBD-TV 31.

Matthew Cervarich earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Valparaiso University, which they attended from 2006 to 2010. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2011 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Matthew has obtained several certifications related to healthcare data analytics on Coursera in 2019.
