Dima A.M. Dabbous

Dima A.M. Dabbous, PhD, serves as the Regional Director for the MENA region at Equality Now since September 2018 and has extensive experience as a Senior Gender Specialist for USAID since May 2017, focusing on integrating gender into training materials for Lebanese civil society organizations. Dabbous has served as a Legal Consultant for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and held senior roles at BBC Media Action and UNESCO, emphasizing media development and gender perspectives. Academic contributions include positions as Associate Professor at Phoenicia University and Senior Lecturer at Lebanese American University, alongside a visiting appointment at Stanford University. Dabbous has a strong educational background with degrees from Concordia University, Lebanese American University, Sheffield Hallam University, and Harvard University, and has contributed significantly to women’s rights and gender equality research and initiatives in the Arab world.
