Karl Limbert

Karl Limbert has extensive experience in various senior leadership roles. Karl is currently the Director of Strategy and External Relations at EQUANS UK & Ireland since April 2020. Prior to that, they worked as the Integrated Solutions Director at ENGIE - UK & Ireland from February 2017 to May 2020. From April 2013 to February 2017, they served as the Head of Property (Assistant Director, Place) at the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Before that, they held the position of Head of Infrastructure (Assistant Director, Adults, Children and Education) at Southampton City Council from February 2009 to April 2013. Karl also worked as a Programme Manager for BSF & Academies at Kent County Council from 2005 to 2009 and as a Business Manager at Programme & Systems Delivery Group from 2004 to 2005.

Karl Limbert has a diverse education history. Karl obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Conflict Analysis from the University of Kent in 1998, following a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Politics from The University of Sheffield in 1996. In 2019, Karl became an Academician at The Academy of Urbanism, and they also hold the certification ICIOB from The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). More recently, from 2019 to 2021, Karl pursued an MSt in Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment at the University of Cambridge. Karl then proceeded to complete a Science and Policy Fellowship at the same university in 2021-2023. Finally, from 2023 to 2025, Karl completed another MSt degree specializing in AI Ethics & Society at the University of Cambridge.
