Luke Folwell is a highly experienced engineer with a diverse background in various industries. Luke currently serves as a Non Executive Director at the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management. Previously, Luke held the role of Head of Engineering in the Sustainable Facilities Management Division at EQUANS UK & Ireland, where they led a team of nine technical managers and engineers and oversaw technical compliance and engineering standards for FM contracts. Prior to this, Luke worked at ENGIE UK & Ireland as the Head of Technical in the Business Services Division, where they managed a team of seven technical managers and engineers and advised the division's Chief Operating Officer on engineering matters. Luke also has experience at CBRE UK as an M&E Engineering Manager, where they managed a team of ten engineers and contributed to the mobilization of the Francis Crick Institute. Before entering the private sector, Luke served in the Royal Navy in various engineering roles, including Chief Engineer - Nuclear Mechanical & Electrical and Petty Officer Engineering Technician. Luke Folwell obtained a degree in Marine Systems Engineering from the University of Portsmouth, where they studied Mechanical & Electrical Engineering from 2006 to 2009. Luke has also received various certifications, including becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in 2023. Additionally, they obtained a Diploma in Boiler Plant Operation Management (Dip BOM) from the Combustion Engineering Association in July 2023.
