Willy van Stappen

Willy Van Stappen is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in senior leadership roles across various financial institutions. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Equiduct since March 2007, Willy oversees operations within a compliant multi-lateral trading venue while pursuing regulated market status from Belgian authorities. Previously, as Program Director at LCHClearnet SA, Willy was an active member of the Investment Management Committee and the Executive Committee, focusing on operations and projects. Prior to that, Willy held positions as Executive Director at the Brussels Stock Exchange, CEO of Brussels Clearing House and CIK, and Executive Vice President at Belfox, demonstrating a strong background in clearing, settlement services, and compliance. Willy holds a degree in Commercial Engineering from Economische Hogeschool Sint Aloysius, completing studies in economics and engineering subjects between 1980 and 1985.
