Ashley Smith serves as the Chief Customer Officer at Equilibrium Energy, overseeing business development and customer success since June 2025. Previously, Ashley held the position of Chief Technology & Innovation Officer at The AES Corporation from 2021 to April 2025. At Shell, from June 2017 to August 2021, Ashley was instrumental in transforming the multi-billion dollar EU power & gas sales business and led the development of the renewable power business. Prior experience includes leadership roles at Centrica, where Ashley headed the product and commercial function and co-founded Centrica Venture Capital, as well as work with CT Investment Partners and Franklin Templeton Investments. Ashley began a career at the Environmental Protection Agency as an Environmental Protection Specialist. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Clean Technology Management and an MA in International Studies from The Wharton School and The Lauder Institute, along with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and German from McGill University.
