Juan Manuel Merchán

Juan Manuel Merchán has a significant work experience in the insurance industry. Juan Manuel started their career at Chubb in 2002, where they held various roles including Financial Institutions Underwriter and Financial & Specialty Lines Underwriting Manager. Juan Manuel then served as CEO in different countries, including Chubb Chile and Chubb Colombia. In 2016, they became the Senior Vice President of Latin America at Chubb. In 2018, Juan Manuel joined CESCE Colombia and Informa Colombia S.A. as the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Board respectively. In 2020, they joined Seguros Confianza as the Chief Executive Officer before moving to their current position as Chief Executive Officer at Seguros Equinoccial in 2022.

Juan Manuel Merchán holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from IPADE Business School, which they obtained between 2006 and 2008. Juan Manuel also pursued a Master's degree in Corporate Finance from CESA from 2001 to 2002. Their undergraduate studies were completed at Universidad Externado de Colombia, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from 1993 to 1998.
