Eric John Root

SURF Architect

Eric John Root is an experienced Subsea Engineer with a strong background in field development projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Currently serving as a SURF Architect and Senior Engineer for Subsea Technology at Equinor since January 2018, Eric is responsible for Underwater Intervention Drone infrastructure and Subsea Production Control System deliveries. Previous roles include serving as a teaching assistant for Precision Surveying at the University of New Brunswick and working as a Surveyor for C & C Technologies, where duties included USBL positioning of ROVs and dimensional control surveys. Eric also gained experience as a Survey Assistant at Focus Corporation and as a GIS Engineering Student at Ottawa River Power Corporation. Academically, Eric holds a Master's degree in Subsea Engineering from Robert Gordon University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BScE) in Geomatics from the University of New Brunswick. Additionally, Eric participated in an exchange semester focused on Land Surveying and Geo Informatics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
