Kjell Erik Wennberg

Kjell Erik Wennberg is an experienced subsurface manager currently working at Equinor since September 2018, with a prior extensive career at Statoil starting in January 2008. As Chief Engineer Production Technology, Kjell focuses on improving quality and excellence in Production Engineering across the company, overseeing quality control for major projects and operations. Previous roles include Advisor Production Technology, Team Lead GoM Petroleum Technology Paleogene Group, and Lead Production Engineer in the Gulf of Mexico, where leadership and collaboration with junior engineers were key responsibilities. Kjell’s earlier experience includes leading production engineering efforts in high-pressure, high-temperature environments and managing teams for significant oil projects. Academic credentials include a Dr.Ing in Petroleum Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and a Visiting Scholar designation from The University of Texas at Austin.
