Peter Hanssen

Peter Hanssen is a Lead Geophysicist at Equinor, currently heading the geophysical research department and leading Towed Marine Vibrator projects with Shearwater. They previously worked at Statoil as a leader in geophysics, overseeing advanced geophysical equipment for offshore electromagnetics and sustainable seismic solutions. Their earlier experiences include roles as Principal Geophysicist at Norsk Hydro and Higher Scientific Officer at the British Geological Survey, where they focused on sub-basalt imaging. Peter holds a PhD from The University of Edinburgh and an MSc from Technische Universität Berlin.
