Matthew Westwood

Matthew Westwood, CPA, CA has a diverse and extensive work experience in the financial field. Starting in 1995, they worked as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG Australia before moving on to roles such as Management Accountant and Hyperion Administrator at PaperlinX. From 1999 to 2002, they served as a Senior Business Analyst at Fosters Group. Matthew then joined Teck Resources Limited as a Senior Accountant - Hyperion Administrator from 2003 to 2005. Matthew subsequently took on contract roles in Reporting & Budgeting for various blue-chip companies including Fosters Group, Pacific Brands, and Bluescope Steel. In 2007, they became a Senior Analyst at Cactus Club Group before transitioning to CHC Helicopter as a Cost Controller from 2008 to 2011. Matthew then joined New Gold Inc. as a Director - Operations Controller from 2011 to 2016, and later became the Director of Business Analysis, Projects from 2016 to 2017. Matthew joined Alio Gold in 2017, assuming the role of Director Project Development until 2018, and then as Director - Planning, Reporting and Analysis until 2019. Currently, they are working at Equinox Gold Corp. as the Director - Operations Controller, starting in 2019 and becoming the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in May 2020.

Matthew Westwood, CPA, CA completed CFA Level 1 from the CFA Institute in 2009. Matthew then pursued a degree in Chartered Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants between 1995 and 1997. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Monash University from 1991 to 1994. Matthew completed their high school education at Melbourne High School.
