Sean Hong

Sean Hong has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Sean is currently the Global Head of Finance at Equiti Group since August 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Plus500 as the Chief Financial Officer (Australia) from July 2021 to July 2023 and Financial Controller (Australia) from June 2020 to June 2021. Before joining Plus500, Sean held positions at Epoch Capital as Group Finance Manager from January 2017 to June 2020 and Group Senior Accountant from October 2015 to December 2016. Sean also worked as a Senior Product Controller at ANZ from April 2015 to October 2015. Additionally, they gained experience at Macquarie Group as Manager from January 2014 to April 2015 and Executive from September 2012 to December 2013. Prior to that, they worked at Deutsche Bank as an Associate from July 2010 to September 2012, Analyst from January 2009 to June 2010, and Graduate from January 2007 to December 2008. Sean started their career as an Accountant at PwC from December 2005 to February 2006.

Sean Hong completed their education as follows: From 1989 to 1991, they attended Newington College, where they earned a Wyvern. Sean then attended St Edmund's College Canberra from 1992 to 1999 and obtained a Year 12 Certificate. Sean pursued higher education at the University of Melbourne from 2000 to 2004 and obtained a Bachelor of Economics (Honours). In 2005 and 2006, they attended UNSW and earned a Master of Commerce. Subsequently, from 2007 to 2009, they obtained a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA) from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In 2010, they also obtained the certification of Chartered Accountant (CA) from the same institution.
