David Sirfus has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. David began their career in the United States Air Force, where they served as a Non-Commissioned Officer with various roles and responsibilities, including aircraft maintenance and personnel management. After leaving the military, they joined Todd & Sargent, Inc., a national construction firm, as the Human Resources Manager. During their tenure, they established the company's first formalized HR Department and implemented policies and procedures to ensure a diverse and inclusive corporate culture.

Following their time at Todd & Sargent, Inc., David joined Bankers Trust as the Vice President of Compensation Benefits, where they developed a comprehensive HR process for the organization and oversaw the benefits and payroll functions. David then moved on to DuPont Pioneer, where they served as the Human Resource Manager and HR Consultant, playing a crucial role in the merger, acquisition, and integration of multiple regional seed companies. David's focus was on managing the transition, maintaining cultural sensitivity, and ensuring the successful integration of HR and business processes.

After DuPont Pioneer, David joined UnityPoint Health as the Director of Human Resources, where they were responsible for building a high-performing HR team and functions that delivered value to the organization and its leaders. David successfully expanded the size and scope of the HR division and enhanced its impact and engagement with the business.

Most recently, David joined EquiTrust Life Insurance Company as the Acting Chief People Officer and Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, they oversee the HR function and plays a critical role in shaping the company's people strategy.

Throughout their career, David has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of HR best practices. David holds certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and a Strategic Human Resources Business Partner (sHRBP).

David Sirfus, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, sHRBP, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Wayland Baptist University. David also received an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Airframe Mechanics and Aircraft Maintenance Technology/Technician as well as an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Instructor of Technology and Military Sciences from the Community College of the Air Force in the years 1994-1996.

In addition, David Sirfus has obtained various certifications throughout their career. David acquired the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in June 2012. Furthermore, they obtained the SHRM-SCP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in November 2015.
