Mr. Buscemi has more than 34 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. His main competence includes refinery corrosion, metallurgy, materials selection, and damage mechanisms, with a special emphasis on writing Corrosion Control Documents, failure analysis and analytical laboratory work, development of equipment inspection guidelines, and biofuel refining plant corrosion.
Mr. Buscemi is the author and co-author of technical papers regarding high-temperature hydrogen attack (HTHA) of carbon steels and low-alloy steels, and temper embrittlement (TE) of iron-chromium-molybdenum alloys for hydrocracker and hydrotreater units. He is also the joint holder of patents regarding the invention of metallic coatings to resist high-temperature sulfidation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Buscemi has worked as a metallurgical and corrosion engineer for domestic Chevron Corporation refineries, Chevron’s Energy and Technology Center, Connexsys Inc., Stress Engineering Services, and E2G | The Equity Engineering Group, Inc. He is a member of NACE.
