Deborah Montelaro

Executive Director, University House Wallingford at Era Living

Deborah Montelaro is the Executive Director of University House Wallingford at Era Living. Deborah has over 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector, with a focus on administration, operations, volunteer management, and fundraising.

Deborah began their career as a Substitute Paraeducator with the Bellevue School District in September 2015. In this role, they provided support to teachers and students in a variety of settings.

In December 2010, they became the Development Director at Senior Services for South Sound, where they oversaw all fundraising efforts for the organization. During their four-year tenure, they successfully raised over $4 million dollars to support the organization's programs and services.

In January 2016, they joined the YMCA of Greater Seattle as District Director Administration. In this role, they were responsible for aligning four district YMCA branches in organizational business practices to provide exceptional customers service to YMCA members. Deborah also managed district administrative staff in supporting association projects.

During their four-year tenure at the YMCA of Greater Seattle, they created and maintained partnerships with local nonprofits and organizations utilizing YMCA programs and facilities. Deborah also produced branch marketing materials and solicited and communicated with donors in branch fundraising efforts.

In September 2020, Deborah became the Executive Director of University House Wallingford at Era Living. In this role, they are responsible for the overall operation and management of the community.

Deborah Montelaro has a Master of Science in Recreation / Nonprofit Management from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Southern California.
