Julie Katz

Director, Community Health & Wellness, The Gardens At Town Square at Era Living

Julie Katz has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Julie currently serves as the Director of Community Health & Wellness at Era Living, where they manage health and wellness services for over 150 residents. In their previous role as a Senior Director at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Julie created a cohesive team and provided strategic direction for Research & Academics, overseeing budgets and securing external funding. Julie also launched a comprehensive weight loss center and developed research and academic programs for the Neuroscience Institute. Prior to that, Julie worked at the University of Washington as an Assistant Dean, where they led initiatives, established new programs, and implemented student services. Throughout their career, Julie has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Julie Katz has a diverse education history. Julie obtained a Master of Arts degree in Education and a B Lit degree in Hebrew Literature from the American Jewish University. Julie also completed an Undoing Institutional Racism program at The People's Institute Northwest.

In addition, Julie attended the University of Washington, where they earned a BA in Art History and a BS in Nursing. Julie further expanded their knowledge and skills through various certifications and trainings. Julie became a Best Friends Certified Master Trainer through Health Professions Press in 2023. In 2019, they obtained certification as an Advance Care Planning Certified Facilitator & Instructor from Respecting Choices.

Julie is also a Certified Virginia Mason Production System Leader and has a certification in Experience Based Design. Julie received these certifications in 2014 from the Virginia Mason Medical Center. Furthermore, they hold a Certificate in Supervision from the University of Washington, which they obtained in 1999. Additionally, Julie is a Registered Nurse, licensed by the Washington State Department of Health since 1988.
