Daan Brinks

Daan Brinks serves as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology since June 2017, focusing on projects that bridge physics, photonics, and neuroscience. Currently a Principal Investigator at Erasmus MC, Daan Brinks previously held postdoctoral fellowships at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Harvard University, where expertise in photophysics and nonlinear spectroscopy of voltage-sensitive proteins was developed. A PhD in Nanophotonics was obtained from ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences after a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from the University of Twente. Prior experience includes research roles at ICFO, Philips, and the Solid House Foundation, highlighting a diverse background in nanotechnology and applied research.
