Evelien Smits

Evelien Smits is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in business control and auditing. Since February 2015, Evelien has served as a Senior Business Controller at Erasmus MC, specifically in the team Concern Control, and previously held the role of Business Controller for Radiotherapy and Ambulatory Care. Prior to this, Evelien worked as an Auditor at Algemene Rekenkamer and as a Staff Auditor Assurance at Ernst & Young. Early career experiences include a Master's thesis internship at EY focused on audit expectations, committee roles for both STAR Study Association and Stadswonen, and positions as a student assistant at prestigious academic institutions. Evelien holds a Registeraccountant (RA) degree, an MSc in Business Administration, and a Bachelor's in Business Administration, further fortified by studies at the Stockholm School of Economics.
